What Is House Church?

God is working through House Church.

Our model of the New Testament church is based on Acts 2:42-47 — The local church is made up of many house churches that meet individually in different homes every week and also gather for corporate worship on Sundays.

“They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.”

ACTS 2:46-47 (NIV)

  • Making disciples.   Through House Churches, members are faithfully committed to being disciples of Christ, living an active life of service to Christ and one another, and ministering to nonbelievers with the hope of saving the lost and making them disciples of Christ.
  • Building community.   A typical House Church is a community of 6-12 people who meet on a weekly basis at each other’s homes to fulfill all the functions of a local church: worship, discipleship, fellowship, service, evangelism and missions.
  • Serving nonbelievers.   House Church provides a non-threatening environment for nonbelievers to attend church, ask questions about God, Christianity, and other religions, and receive Christ as Lord and Savior. Nonbelievers experience God and transformation in their lives through honest sharing and answered prayers that can only happen in House Church.

House Church is a family community and a small church that consists of both nonbelievers and believers, where they contemplate God’s grace and strive to practice God’s love in today’s emotionally disconnected society.

Since a House Church is a family, it enables people to share their life story deeply with each other. Sharing personal stories and showing interest for each other empowers members to resolve their brokenness and misunderstanding about Christianity.

Amazing healing takes place among the members of the House Church through sharing, serving, and praying. The hearts of non-believing members start to open up when they observe believing members live a life led by God’s purpose and desire and show concern for other members of the one body.

Through candid and honest sharing coupled with answers to specific prayer requests, non-believing members gradually get to know God and their lives start to transform. That is why House Church produces more and more testimonies. Nothing is as inspiring and touching as a transformed life filled with true joy.

Testimony

on House Church

So why do we come? Because of the intimacy of the congregation with God, because God works here, and because our son will grow up around fellow believers who do not just talk of God, but who want to be transformed, molded and used by God.

— Keith Takahata, Lay Leader

I believe my wife and I are proof the prayers are answered and miracles can and do happen. I want to thank God for putting my wife and Yoon (lay leader) in my life. Without them, I am not sure where our life would be now.

— Paul Kolanek, Lay Leader

In the past 20 years doing House Church ministry, it has been nothing but a joy that was so amazing that I cannot contain it with myself.

— Eric Shin, Senior Pastor

Mission Through House Churches

At the end of every mission, there should be God's missional church.
A church built on the foundation of three axes, a church where three generations are formed and reproduction occurs. We seek the path of God's mission through the House Church Ministry.
